IN THE EVENT OF THE SCHOOL BEING ON LOCK DOWN, PLEASE SEE INFORMATION FOR PARENTS REGARDING THE PROCEDURES

Communication between School and Parents

 

In the event of an actual lockdown, any incident or development will be communicated to parents as soon as is practicable by text message Parents should be given enough information about what will happen so that they:

 

• Are reassured that the school understands their concern for their child’s welfare, and that it is doing everything possible to ensure his/her safety
• Do not need to contact school. Calling the school could tie up telephone lines that are needed for contacting emergency services 
• Do not come to school. They could interfere with emergency services and access to school and put themselves in danger. The area will more than likely be closed off by the emergency services
• Wait for school to contact you about when and where it is safe for you to come to collect your children

 

Please Note. Parents will be told “the school is in a full lockdown situation. During this period, the phones/buzzers and entrances will not be staffed. External doors will remain locked and nobody other than the emergency services will be allowed in or out.”
